Have you ever heard the expression content is king? Then how you market the quality of content is queen. Even on a shoestring budget, you can create content on a consistent basis and increase your credibility and visibility.
It can be overwhelming for business owners, entrepreneurs and even from a social standpoint in delivering content and overcoming the challenge of balancing so much on our plate. We’ve all experienced having “not enough time” disease.
However, it can also work against us because the same holds true for things such as paying our bills on time and managing our emails more efficiently, just as examples.
“Survival in the online world is not for the faint of heart and in this case producing quality content is critical!”
Here are some things to first consider:
• First answer the question for yourself “What is content?” Content is creating and sharing valuable content to attract potential customers. The goal is to convert potential customers (leads) into customers and to do achieve this through providing valuable content in multiple ways. Also, to become an expert in your industry, you want to provide content related primarily to what you offer or can provide to the needs of your target market.
• There are endless opportunities to create content that we face on a daily basis. The key is getting better at recognizing them. To help create content that helps create engagement and build relationships with your subscribers or audience, talk about pain points. Here you have to be clear on what issues or problem your target market needs solutions for and point out the importance of solving the problem. Ways you can offer information that will help or solve their problem or issue (PAIN) is through your message such as a blog post, an eBook, a video post, images or even a Facebook status update; and provide a direct action for them take.
• How to determine and create the content specific to your audience. Never underestimate going back to your content and analyzing to make sure the content is speaking directly to your audience and not for you. In this case when it comes to providing content, it’s not about you. You have to get clear on your ideal customer and what problem you are solving. It requires more than just being engaging, entertaining and empowering. At the end of the day, this helps move your potential customer to take action because they believe they will have results with you.
• Drawing a blank or feeling stuck in finding a new way to create content? You can’t be everything to everyone at the same time! YouTube search box is a great tool that will help because it shows other relative words that relate to your expertise as you type in the search box. This is a great way to find new and relative content as well. Slideshare is another great resource; also known as the YouTube of PowerPoint presentations. You can search for topics and can view hand outs, presentations and slides to share or use as a content creation method.
Tactical strategies to keep in mind:
Have a solid team behind you so anytime you need to create content you have the right people in place. When you have ideas you start to get stressed out because you feel you don’t have enough time. This thinking behavior is what usually keeps people from moving forward with those ideas. Don’t stifle your creativity.
Keep a placeholder where your list of your thoughts, ideas and examples are kept. And keep a close eye on the content around you waiting for you to create!
